New York City’s First Lady Visits the Family Resource Center of Eastern Queens

FAR ROCKAWAY, NY (FEBRUARY 2015) – St. John's Episcopal Hospital recently welcomed New York City's first lady, Chirlane McCray, to the Family Resource Center (FRC) of Eastern Queens. Ms. McCray's February 18 visit, which was coordinated by the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene (NYCDOHMH), included meetings with the center's staff as well as conversations with two local families that have benefited from the Center's supportive programs. Ms. McCray was accompanied by Gary Belkin, MD, PhD, MPH, executive deputy commissioner of the NYCDOHMH.

The Family Resource Center of Eastern Queens, a program of St. John's Episcopal Hospital, provides advocacy and assistance to families with children and young adults who have emotional or behavioral difficulties. The Center is located in Jamaica and partners with other community-based organizations to ensure that the families receive the support they need.
