The Division of Neurology at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital offers a full array of neurological services, including neurodiagnostic testing, the latest MRI technology, electroencephalography (EEG), nerve testing in collaboration with the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and the St. John’s Episcopal Emergency Department, which is a New York State-Designated Stroke Center. Conditions routinely treated include: Stroke, movement disorders (such as Parkinson’s disease), Alzheimer’s, seizures, epilepsy, migraine headaches, neck pain and back pain.

St. John’s Episcopal offers tissue plasminogen activator (TPA) for acute stroke, typically given in an emergency setting. Medical intervention is provided 24/7 for all neurological emergencies, including stroke and seizure.

The division also provides community outreach, lecturing on subjects such as Parkinson’s disease and stroke prevention.

Evaluation and treatment are conducted on a regular basis in the Hospital’s Ambulatory Care Center. Appointments for the Neurology Clinic are by referral only. Please call 718-869-7690 for more information on the Neurology Clinic.
