What is Radiation Therapy?

Radiation therapy is a type of cancer treatment that uses high-energy beams of radiation to destroy cancer cells. It is an effective treatment option for many types of cancer, including breast, lung, prostate, and brain cancer. Our radiation oncologists will work closely with you and your family to choose the most appropriate treatment plan based on your unique needs and overall health.

At the EHS Cancer Center, we offer the latest radiation therapies, including:

  • Image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT)
  • Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT)
  • Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS)
  • Other advanced techniques supported by TrueBeam™ technology

Using these technologies, and innovative techniques, our oncology team delivers highly targeted therapy with greater precision, meaning less risk for side effects while maximizing the effectiveness of the treatment you receive.
