Medical Education

Welcome from the Director

Welcome to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital and Episcopal Health Services

St. John’s Episcopal Hospital is the sole provider of emergency and ambulatory care for the densely populated, medically underserved, and culturally diverse Rockaway Peninsula in Queens, NY, the Five Towns community in Nassau County and surrounding communities. We are the proud home to a wide range of ACGME-accredited residency programs including Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Dermatology and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. We also operate a Podiatric Medicine & Surgery with Rearfoot & Ankle residency program and Wound Care Fellowship accredited by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) .

Our commitment to the community extends beyond the hospital walls to include care provided at our local clinics. Our faculty, composed of experienced attending physicians from the surrounding area, work closely with residents across all specialties, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment. We also welcome numerous medical students, enriching the educational experience for everyone involved. Through hands-on training and mentorship, our residents develop the knowledge and skills to reach key milestones and, ultimately, practice independently. Our mission is to prepare compassionate, skilled physicians and podiatrists who are equipped to serve both our local community and the broader population with excellence in care.
