EHS Highlights Expanded Cardiology Services for American Heart Month
Far Rockaway, New York, January 30, 2026 — In recognition of American Heart Month, Episcopal Health Services (EHS) is highlighting expanded access to comprehensive cardiology care now available on the Rockaway Peninsula.
Led by Dheeraj Khurana, MD, Chief of Cardiology, the EHS cardiology team provides prevention, diagnosis, treatment and long-term management for a broad range of cardiovascular conditions, from heart failure and coronary artery disease to arrhythmias and valve disorders. Care is supported by advanced diagnostic imaging, including echocardiography, stress testing, and cardiac CT, enabling early detection and more personalized treatment plans.
“Expanding access to advanced cardiology services requires sustained investment in technology, clinical expertise and care delivery models that reflect the latest clinical standards,” said Donald T. Morrish, MD, MMM, Chief Executive Officer of EHS. “This approach ensures our cardiology program is equipped to deliver high-acuity cardiovascular care today while positioning EHS for continued clinical growth.”
In addition to comprehensive diagnostic and consultative services, EHS offers specialized cardiac programs including cardio-oncology, mobile cardiac telemetry, pacemakers, defibrillators and stent placement to support the treatment of complex and high-risk conditions.
“Our cardiology services are designed to bring earlier diagnosis, more precise intervention and better long-term outcomes together in a single, coordinated program,” said Jameela Yusuff, MD, MPH, MS, FACP, Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of EHS. “Our integrated structure allows our physicians to treat cardiovascular disease more proactively and more effectively.”
“Our team is equipped to manage cardiovascular disease across its full spectrum, from early detection through long-term management, using evidence-based diagnostics and therapies,” said Dr. Khurana. “This allows us to care for patients with both routine and complex heart conditions without disrupting continuity of care.”
