Episcopal Health Services Welcomes First Baby of 2026

Far Rockaway, New York, January 2, 2026 — Episcopal Health Services (EHS) welcomed its first baby of the year early January 2, when baby Jonas was born at 12:37 a.m. to proud parents Maryelyn Mendoza Sandoval and Joseph Sanchez.

The healthy baby boy weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces and measured 19.69 inches at birth. “I am grateful to the team at EHS,” said Maryelyn Mendoza Sandoval. “I received all of my prenatal care here and was supported by an excellent medical team. From the quality of the facilities and the beautiful view in my room to the outstanding care provided by the doctors and nurses, every aspect of my experience was exceptional.”

To mark the joyful occasion, The EHS Executive Leadership Team gifted the family a stroller with car seat attachment, along with diapers and baby wipes. The family also received a baby monitor generously donated by Jzanus, a Long Island-based company and valued partner of EHS.
