Rita Jammal, MD
Dr. Rita Jammal is double board certified in internal medicine and infectious disease. Her areas of focus include general infectious diseases, Hepatitis, HIV, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and Tuberculosis. She also offers colonoscopies and minimally invasive surgery. She is known for her compassionate and thorough approach to patient care through her expertise in the diagnosis, treatment and management of a wide range of infectious diseases.
She received her MD from American University of the Caribbean. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Nassau University Medical Center and her fellowship in Infectious Disease at Mount Sinai Healthcare System. She mentors and educates medical residents, collaborates with Infection Prevention to ensure best practices are employed at EHS and actively participates in the hospital’s antimicrobial stewardship program, striving to improve patient outcomes and promote public health
