Episcopal Health Services Inc. (EHS) ) has a long history of rendering quality healthcare services. EHS is committed to providing these services in accordance with applicable laws and in line with the highest ethical standards. Frank Caria, Director of Compliance and Privacy, is charged with overseeing the compliance and privacy functions at EHS.

Compliance & Ethics

EHS’s Compliance Program, which has been adopted by the Board of Trustees, is designed to prevent detect and deter health care fraud, waste, abuse and illegal or unethical conduct. EHS maintains a Code of Conduct which provides standards and expectations of conduct for all personnel including EHS employees, affiliates, contractors, volunteers, students, and trainees.

Privacy of Health Information

The protection of your health information is of utmost importance. EHS is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of your health information and compliance with the privacy and security requirements under Federal and State law including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). The Director of Compliance and Privacy also serves as EHS's Privacy Officer.

EHS’s Notice of Privacy Practices describes how the health information about our patients may be used and disclosed and the rights afforded to them under HIPAA. EHS encourages you to take a moment and review this notice to become familiar with this notice.

EHS Policy on Non-Retaliation/Intimidation strictly prohibits intimidation, harassment or retaliation, in any form, against any individual or entity who in good faith participates in the EHS Compliance Program by reporting or participating in the investigation of any known or suspected violations of law, privacy, EHS policies and procedures, potential fraud, waste and abuse or other non-compliance.

All reports of suspected non-compliance are investigated and responded in a prompt fashion.
