St. John's appoints Mr. Del Joiner as Interim Vice President of Quality

St. John’s Episcopal Hospital is pleased to announce that Mr. Del Joiner has been appointed to Interim Vice President of Quality. In his new role, Del will oversee the Clinical Quality and Patient Safety of the Hospital. He will also be an active member of the Executive Management Committee, serve as an ex officio member of the Medical Executive Committee and exercise a strong influence in Board of Trustees matters.
Mr. Joiner comes to St. John’s with over 25 years of healthcare experience in urban and rural hospitals including clinical through senior leadership roles in quality, performance improvement, utilization management and risk management. He has broad experience in developing, leading and implementing strong customer-focused, organization-wide performance improvement and case management initiatives. He has provided expert professional services to quality improvement organizations and served as a primary resource in the development and deployment of population management and care coordination software systems.
His other leadership and quality initiatives include working with the National Opinion Research Center (NORC), the research arm of the University of Chicago, to support the CMS Office of Minority Health’s 5-year strategy to close the gap on healthcare disparities. Del has participated in, and provided presentations for a number of national quality improvement campaigns including Institute for Healthcare Improvement collaboratives and a primary leadership role in the American College of Cardiology’s 1000-hospital national Door-to-Balloon (D2B) STEMI quality and performance initiative.
