St. John’s ICARE Foundation Executive Director Honored with Community Visionary Award
Far Rockaway, New York, July 1, 2025 — The St. John’s ICARE Foundation is proud to announce that Executive Director Nancy Leghart received the inaugural Community Visionary Award from Four Leaf Federal Credit Union at the ReImagine Conference, held on June 10 at North Hills Country Club.
This award honors individuals who drive meaningful change and demonstrate a deep commitment to improving the lives of those in their communities. Leghart, who was selected from a pool of 350 applicants, was recognized for her dedication to identifying and understanding the needs of the Far Rockaway community, particularly the vulnerable populations.

Morrish, MD, MMM, Chief Executive Officer of Episcopal Health Services (EHS). “Her tireless dedication to the mission and vision of EHS – through investments in capital projects and equipment, community initiatives, and special programs has made a profound impact on countless lives.”
As the founding Executive Director of the ICARE Foundation, Leghart has passionately cultivated a culture of innovation and compassion to address the community’s needs. She introduced “Comfort Carts” stocked with snacks and personal care items for patients, organized monthly Healing2Music performances that bring live music to patients, hospital visitors and team members, and spearheaded a crowdfunding campaign to launch Doula Services aimed at improving maternal health outcomes for women in the Rockaways. She also established a pharmacy fund to ensure no patient ever goes without life-saving medication and – much more.
Leghart has also been instrumental in securing philanthropic support to purchase hospital equipment and contribute to the construction of EHS’ new Labor and Delivery Suite to enhance patient care.
In recognition of her award, Four Leaf Federal Credit Union has gifted Leghart, with coaching services valued at $10,000.
