St. John’s Gives Back at Community and Wellness Fair

FAR ROCKAWAY, 2017—Friday , August 4th, St. John’s Episcopal Hospital hosted a Community and Back-To-School Wellness Fair which welcomed members of the Five Towns and Rockaway communities. The fair was held on the hospital’s property from 12 noon until 6 pm, and included free health screenings, give-a-ways, face painting, and games for attendees. Hunter Ambulance Company provided ambulance tours, the NYPD provided a rock wall for children to climb and over 50 local organizations/businesses distributed information. In addition, the hospital gave out 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to children who were present at the event.
“We are excited to be able to educate our community members and help our children obtain valuable health and wellness information today,” said St. John’s CEO, Mr. Gerard Walsh. “The hospital’s relationship with the Far Rockaway community is extremely important, and we look forward to being able to serve those in need for many years to come.” St. John’s is proud of the success of this event and the hospital’s staff looks forward to continuing to build relationships with community members and organizations in the future.
