FAR ROCKAWAY, 2018—Thursday, December 20, St. John’s Episcopal Hospital hosted its annual Children’s Holiday Party on Thursday, December 20th at the Peninsula Preparatory Academy Charter School on Beach 19th Street in Far Rockaway.
Children attending the event were able to take pictures with Santa, the elves, and other characters in addition to having snacks, playing games, and enjoying music. The highlight of the event for many was the bags of free toys that the children were able to take home from the event. It is estimated that over 1200 children attended the event, which all community members were invited to.
“The Children’s Holiday Party is an event that the staff at St. John’s looks forward to planning every year,” said The Rev. Cecily P. Broderick y Guerra, St. John’s Vice President of Mission. “We’re passionate about finding ways to make the Far Rockaway community a better place, and this party is a great way to spread the holiday spirit.”
St. John’s would like to thank Father Frank, Pastor at St. Mary Star of the Sea, where the school’s campus is located, for graciously hosting the event, as well as Commanding Officer Captain Vincent J. Tavalaro and the NYPD officers who assisted at the event. The staff at St. John’s would like to wish all a happy, healthy holiday season!
