St. John’s Medical Group Receives Book Donation

FAR ROCKAWAY, 2018—June 20th, St. John’s Medical Group’s Pediatrics and Adult Medicine Practice received a donation of almost 400 children’s books from local teenager, Lily Cohen. Ms. Cohen worked with her mother Jennifer, who grew up in Far Rockaway, to collect the books from family and friends as part of her Bat Mitzvah charitable project.
The Pediatrics and Adult Medicine Practice, which is located at 495 Beach 20th Street in Far Rockaway, provides the community with Adult Medical care in addition to General Pediatrics, Neonatology, Pediatric Endocrinology, Pediatric Neurology, Pediatric Pulmonology, and Pediatric Nutritional services. Staffed by Dr. Criss, Chairman of St. John’s Pediatrics Department, the practice cares for families throughout the Five Towns and Rockaway Peninsula.
Dr. Criss is well-known by children in the community for her practice of rewarding patients with books after a successful appointment. Ms. Cohen’s donation will bring joy to many of the practice’s patients.
“I have always loved books and I’ve always loved to read,” said Lily. “It makes me feel good that I’m helping families receive books to read to their children.”
The staff at St. John’s Hospital and the Pediatrics & Adult Medicine Practice would like to thank Lily and all who donated to make this project an absolute success!
