The Division of Neurology at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital provides a full array of inpatient and outpatient neurological services for a wide range of diseases affecting the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nervous system. Conditions routinely treated include stroke, seizure, migraine headaches, movement disorders and dementia. We will collaborate with your medical team to create a comprehensive care plan.
We offer neuro-diagnostic testing including electroencephalopgraphy (EEG), electomyography (EMG) and nerve testing in collaboration with the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The hospital has the latest CT and MRI machines to enable advanced testing.
St John’s Episcopal Hospital is a New York State Department of Health certified Primary Stroke Center. In conjunction with the Emergency Room, our team offers medical evaluations 24/7 for rapid intervention for tissue plasminogen activator (rt-PA), the “clot buster” for stroke. St John’s Episcopal Hospital has achieved the Get with the Guidelines – Stroke Gold-Plus Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association / American Stroke Association for its treatment of patients presenting with acute neurological deficits compatible with stroke.
Evaluation and treatment are conducted on a regular basis in the Hospital’s Ambulatory Care Centers. For more information or an appointment at our general and specialty neurology clinics, please call 718-869-7690.
