Computed Tomography (CT) Scan

Computed Tomography (CT) Scan

Computed tomography (CT) scanning is a noninvasive, painless X-ray procedure that obtains cross-sectional images or “slices” of body parts that cannot be visualized on a conventional X-ray. These detailed images are used for diagnosis of disease, treatment planning and to gauge the effectiveness of treatment.

St. John’s Episcopal Hospital is a New York State Designated Stroke Center and a recipient of the Gold-Plus Get with the GuidelinesĀ®-Stroke Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association. The CT Department and Emergency Department are certified participants in the N.Y. State Stroke Alert Program.
