Ultrasound

Ultrasound

Ultrasound, or sonogram, is a medical imaging technique that uses sound waves and their echoes as a diagnostic medical tool. Radiation-free, these sound waves produce visual images of organs, tissue and blood flow inside the body including, but not limited to, the abdomen, thyroid, breasts, reproductive system, developing fetal growth, blood clots, stenosis (abnormal narrowing), heart disease, tumors and cancer.

St. John’s Episcopal Hospital is a recognized ACR-accredited ultrasound facility and all sonogram exams are performed by certified RDMS technologists.
