Graduate Medical Education

Welcome to the Medical Education Programs at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital.

We are located in Far Rockaway, New York and offer high quality residency and student programs.


The hospital’s residency programs include:

The Internal Medicine and Psychiatry residency programs are free-standing independent programs affiliated with the State University of New York (SUNY) Health Science Center at Brooklyn. The programs in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Medicine and Gastroenterology fellowship are sponsored by SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn. Dermatology, Family Medicine, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Ophthalmology and Surgery are affiliated with LECOM (Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine).

St. John’s is a core campus for several allopathic and osteopathic schools. These students complete their entire 3rd year program on our campus. Electives and sub internship rotations are also offered for 4th year students.

St. John’s also operates a PMS/RRA (Podiatric Medicine & Surgery with Rearfoot & Ankle) residency and Wound Care Fellowship accredited by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME).
