Orthopedic Surgery

718-869-7672

The Division of Orthopedic Surgery at St. John's Episcopal Hospital provides diagnostic and treatment services for a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions. Conditions treated include those from injuries, both traumatic and sports-related, such as fractures (broken bones), muscle tears and injuries, sprains, twists, strains and dislocations, carpal tunnel syndrome, and trigger finger. The Division also sees patients with arthritis.

Non-surgical and less-invasive treatments include coordinating physiotherapy with the Hospital's Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as minimally invasive arthroscopic interventions. Surgical treatments include joint replacement of the knees, hips and shoulders, and other corrective surgeries.

The Division works closely with Imaging Services and uses MRI and CT-scan technology for diagnostics. Key technologies and advancements include the latest arthroscopic equipment and hyaluronic acid, a synthetic fluid, which non-surgically treats arthritic knees. All joint replacements use the latest models and materials, as well.

Evaluation and treatment are conducted on a regular basis in the Hospital's Ambulatory Care Center. Appointments for the Orthopedic Surgery Clinic are necessary and are by referral only from a primary care physician. Please call 718-869-7690 for more information on the Orthopedic Surgery Clinic.
