The Division of Hematology at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital is a full-service specialty that deals with basic disorders of the blood system, including uncontrolled bleeding (congenital and acquired), coagulation disorders, sickle cell anemia and hemoglobinopathies, all anemias, and malignant hematology, such as leukemia, lymphomas and multiple myeloma. There is special expertise in treating anemia caused from acute blood loss and dietary deficiency states. The division also provides transfusion medicine, including the use of blood component therapy.

Evaluation and treatment are conducted on a regular basis in the Hospital’s Ambulatory Care Center. Appointments for the Hematology Clinic are necessary and are by referral only from a primary care physician. Please call 718-869-7690 for more information on the Hematology Clinic.
