Ophthalmology (Eye Care) Services

The mission of St. John’s Ophthalmology Department is to provide compassionate, state-of-the-art care for disorders of the eye and vision to the patients we care for, all in an ambulatory setting. Additionally, we are committed to training the next generation of ophthalmologists and eye care providers.

The Ophthalmology service consists of our board certified attending physicians as well as our ophthalmology resident trainees and nursing staff.

Our operating room is outfitted with the latest microsurgical equipment for the performance of cataract and glaucoma surgery, as well as Vitreo retinal surgery.

Conditions We Treat

In addition primary eye care, we treat a wide variety of eye problems, including:

  • Cataracts
  • Glaucoma
  • Diabetic retinopathy
  • Disease of the retina
  • Macular degeneration
  • Retinal tears & detachment
  • Neuro-ophthalmological problems (disorders of the eye and brain)
  • Traumatic injuries
  • Eyelid & orbital (facial bone) problems
  • Cornea problems such as dry eyes, corneal transplants & keratoconus
