Administrative Support Volunteer/Intern

Status: Volunteer/Intern (unpaid)
Hours: Monday through Friday, 9AM-5PM (minimum 3 hours/day)
Reports To: Department Manager, Administrative Services

Position Overview and Basic Function
Volunteers will perform clerical functions that are necessary to support hospital staff in clinical and non-clinical areas.

Responsibilities

  • Performs supportive tasks such as organizing forms; photocopies, scanning, filing and faxing as required or assigned by Supervisor
  • Answer telephone professionally and relays message(s) to the appropriate person
  • Perform other work-related errands as required or assigned by department
  • Deliver communications, medical records, and other documents
  • Labeling & handling envelopes
  • Data entry

Required Skills

  • Able to speak, read and understand English
  • Strong verbal, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Prompt dependable, conscientious, and diligent in the performance of duties.
  • Good organizational and filing ability with English alphabet.
  • Have a basic knowledge of office etiquette, equipment and or willing to learn
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive
  • Responsible & caring individual who can maintain confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA regulations.
