Status: Volunteer/Intern (unpaid)
Hours: Monday through Friday, 9AM-5PM (minimum 3 hours/day)
Reports To: Department Manager, Administrative Services
Position Overview and Basic Function
Volunteers will perform clerical functions that are necessary to support hospital staff in clinical and non-clinical areas.
Responsibilities
- Performs supportive tasks such as organizing forms; photocopies, scanning, filing and faxing as required or assigned by Supervisor
- Answer telephone professionally and relays message(s) to the appropriate person
- Perform other work-related errands as required or assigned by department
- Deliver communications, medical records, and other documents
- Labeling & handling envelopes
- Data entry
Required Skills
- Able to speak, read and understand English
- Strong verbal, interpersonal and communication skills
- Prompt dependable, conscientious, and diligent in the performance of duties.
- Good organizational and filing ability with English alphabet.
- Have a basic knowledge of office etiquette, equipment and or willing to learn
- Organizational and time management skills
- Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive
- Responsible & caring individual who can maintain confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA regulations.
